Tryouts: 2024/2025 10u Team - August 13th and 14th at 6pm

We are looking for girls with 2014 and 2015 birthdays who are interested in supplementing their play in PWC Girls Softball Little League with some higher level travel competition. 

Tryouts will be held on August 13th and 14th at Tyler Elementary School starting at 6pm. We will use the Majors softball field (take the small access road just across from Little Thames Dr to get to the field). We expect tryouts to last until approximately 7:30pm each day and strongly encourage girls to attend both nights. 

The new 10u team will ease into travel ball with 3-4 Sunday double headers in Loudoun County in September and October and then enter 1-2 tournaments at the end of October or early November to conclude the fall portion of the season. Because most of the team will also be playing Little League rec softball, practices will usually be held just once a week.

The Cyclones organization works closely with PWCGSLL on scheduling to reduce conflicts so that girls can play both rec and travel. PWCGSLL offers us field space free of charge, but in exchange does ask that the travel players also participate in rec softball when able to enhance the rec experience for all involved. It also allows PWCGSLL to field a more competitive All-Star team to compete in the state all-star tournaments each summer. 

The head coach of the new 10u team will be Katie Krafty. Coach Katie has years of experience coaching softball for PWCGSLL and as an assistant coach on the 12u Cyclones. She played softball in college at Penn State from 2003-2006, three of those years as Academic All-Big Ten. She has a wealth of softball knowledge and the 10u team could not be in better hands. We hope to see a strong turnout for tryouts and see you on August 13th and 14th.
